Q. How long does it take to assemble the Nomad 400? A. Easily assembled by 1 or 2 people in 3 minutes.
Q. How does the Nomad 400 assist in installation? A. It reduces the effort and manpower required to install glass weighing up to 400 Kg’s (880 Lbs). Glass can be unloaded off the truck, transported and installed by 2 people in almost the same time as it takes 5 to 6 people with less effort and risk of injury and less damage to the glass (using the glazing guides).
Q. How does the Nomad 400 assist in transportation of glass? A. The Nomad 400 is the first portable lifter that can be easily assembled on-site and allows glaziers to unload up to 400 Kg’s (880 Lbs) of glass off a truck. Once the glass is unloaded, two people can then move the Nomad 400 and glass with the same ease as pushing a 4 wheeled trolley. The patented design of the Nomad 400 allows for safe transport of the glass over most surfaces.
Q. How does the Nomad 400 assist OHS issues arising from manual handling of large sheets of glass? A. Using the Nomad 400 to transport glass offers many OHS benefits including:
- Reduced risk of sprain / strain injuries because less heavy lifting is now required.
- Reduced risk of cuts because glaziers do not have to stand so close to the glass during transport and installation.
Q. How much does the Nomad 400 save me on manpower? A. Currently up to 6 people can be required to install glass weighing 400 Kg’s (880 Lbs). The QuattroLifts Nomad 400 can complete the same work in about the same time with only two people with less effort and risk of injury and less damage to the glass.
Q. Can the Nomad 400 handle double glazed units? A. Yes. It can lift and install DGUs weighing up to 400 Kg’s (880 Lbs) easily with 2 people.
Q. What other glazing functions can the Nomad 400 be used for? A. With attachments it can rotate glass and lift and transport multiple sheets of glass, slate, plasterboard, benchtops etc. The Nomad 400 also has attachments that will allow the long plates of glass to be rotated from the horizontal (as transported on a truck) to the vertical to be installed again by only 2 people. The Nomad 400 will also have attachments that will allow laminated glass to be cut and flipped over without the use of an overhead crane.
Q. Has the Nomad 400 been independently tested? A. Yes. It has been tested by Amec and Noble and Sons and is capable of Safe Working Limit of 400 Kg’s (880 Lbs). Please contact us to receive a copy of the report.
Q. How long does it take to learn to safely use the Nomad 400? A. Most people can safely use the Nomad 400 after a few hours of practical training by a competent trainer.
Q. Where can I be trained to safely use the Nomad 400? A. Training will be offered at the TAFE colleges where glaziers are trained or for an extra fee training can occur at your workplace. Training can also be offered by resellers of the Nomad 400.
Q. What other materials can the Nomad 400 be used for? A. The Nomad 400 can transport any materials that can be adhered to with vacuum suckers like marble, HDPE sheets, laminated bench tops, aluminium and steel plates etc. With attachments even flat porous materials like plaster sheets and MDF can also be transported.
